Got off to a nutritious start with yogurt, granola and berries for me and an interesting camera shop for Don. ;)
Today was a three state drive: Idaho, Washington and Oregon. The day started off sunny and we saw lots of sage brush in the open plains. Even though the areas were all fenced off for grazing we did not see much in the way of livestock. Pretty tough vegetation to live off of.
Eventually the brush pastureland turned to some crop land and then orchards and vineyards. The fruit area is along the Columbia River Gorge. Unfortunately, as we drive along the Columbia River the weather turned cloudy and then snowy making it hard to get the full effect of the view.
We stopped at Hood River, a gorgeous town along the Columbia River, to stay the night. Once again the down town seems to have numerous boutique stores and restaurants. We booked into a boutique hotel that is decorated with vast quantities of Christmas lights! Then we went for a walk in the falling snow to find a place for supper. We chose 6th Street Bistro. Don had lamb and I had Red Coconut Curry. Yummy!
