River walk
Gorgeous day for a river walk in downtown Winnipeg. Met up with Leah and we checked out the sites. Saw the brightest red coleus I have ever seen!
Checked out some historic figures' statues too. Keeping' it Riel and the Fab Five! Great afternoon.

High school pals
Met up with Leanne and Erin for our yearly get together. Leanne a school classmate. And Erin a classmate that went to the 'other' high school. Supper at Infernos and pajama party. Great conversations!!!
Kick off gig
Thursday night Shannon and I went to the Exchange District to watch Sit Down Tracy perform before they left on their western tour. There were three different performers.
Dana, a friend of Aaron's who lives in Toronto, did a solo performance with different loops to fill in the sound. He has an exceptionally good voice!
The next performers, From Giants, we're wonderful. I enjoyed their bluesy blue grass sound with an electric guitar, cello, and banjo. The female vocalist's voice was sultry and easy to listen to.
Sit Down Tracy was last. The small venue did not really accommodate the the huge sound. Unfortunately, the wonderful vocal harmonies were lost in the amplification of instruments. Of course I loved it anyways. So proud of these very talented young artists!

Sashiko class
Learned to do an ancient Japanese form of embroidery called Sashiko. Originally it was used to patch work clothes, hence normally done in light thread on indigo colored cloth.
We learned to do this Sashiko embroidery using our sewing machine. First we traced the pattern onto dark fabric with chalk. Then we stitched using thick, light colored thread.)

Ladies day out
Great friends on a road trip. What could be better?
Started at Bridges patio deck for morning coffee. Gorgeous! Followed by a walk through the Leo Mol sculpture garden and lunch at the Park Cafe. Later to McNally and the theatre to see Hope Springs. Meryl Streep was fabulous!!

Meals to the field
It's that time of year again. Harvest is in full swing. The guys have got the winter wheat and fall rye off and have even harvested a field of spring wheat. Awfully early!!
