Water Wednesday

Booked a ride on Dolly the Paddlewheel Boat on Canyon Lake. A gorgeous day for a boat ride; wonderful to be on the water. It seems like an oxymoron to go for a boat ride in the desert, but there is a damn on the Salt River holding back water to be used to generate electricity for the area. It has resulted in four large lakes - Canyon, Apache, Roosevelt and Saguaro.

The cliff walls on Canyon Lake are very steep. It was amazing to see big horned sheep grazing on the tops of the craggy peaks on the cliffs. I probably would never have even looked for them, not realizing they would be there!

After the boat ride we stopped at Filly's for supper. They had an evening band for dancing under the stars. The weather is quite nice in the evenings now. It was 25C still after dark. Ahhhh!!!

Getting on "Dolly"

Looking back after leaving the dock.

Yes, those are big horned sheep up there.  (The small whitish lumps!)

Leah and Don on "Dolly".

Admiring the view.

Panorama shot.

Watching the sun set on Superstition Springs Mountain.

Sunset glow on the mountain.

Supper on the outdoor patio at Filly's.

Another big horned sheep photo.  Can you see them now?
