Geraardsbergen

Beautiful little town, hilltop chapel (night picture), city hall, oldest Mannicken Pis (little peeing boy statue) and more great beer &food. Toured various locations with an elderly local man who got us in to see town hall, cathedral, & a museum with displays of lace, cigar & match making, and various costumes that were made for Mannicken Pis. It should be noted that Geraardsbergen has the oldest Mannicken Pis in Belgium, not Brussels as commonly claimed.

Also traveled to Oudenaarde to see tradition tapestry making, conservation and restoration. I, Krista, was fascinated and could have stayed for days. Perhaps I will return for a course on weaving. (probably not Don)

Met the Marginet cousin that runs a bar and is known as den Abjaar. (the special person) pic below. Delivered a cigar that Reg sent for him.
