Dar es Salaam

We arrived on Tanzania! Flight from Amsterdam to Zurich only one hour, then mad dash thru Swiss customs to catch next flight to Nairobi. Made it just on time! Long 8 hr flight to Nairobi, 40 min layover on same plane then 1 hr more to Dar es Salaam, capital of Tanzania.

Rather disorganized visa office where for $50 each we had a photo and fingerprints taken to allow us into Tanzania. Met outside by driver to South Beach Resort. Long drive thru city, over ferry and down a rocky gravel road to resort. Late night supper and read on balcony to sound of crashing waves of the ocean.

This morning we took a lazy walk along the beach. Now we are sitting in a cabana enjoying the heat (28) and ocean breeze.
