Temple Lights

The neighbors, Jerry and Wendy, invited us out for supper and to see the Mesa Mormon Temple Christmas Lights. We dined at a restaurant called the Landmark in old downtown Mesa. The Landmark was the first Mormon church in the area. It has been used as many things since and now is a restaurant. Lots of rooms for private suppers. Great food!

Then we drove down Main Street to the Mesa Mormon Temple where there is an amazing Christmas light display. Thousands of lights!

As an added treat every evening for the month of December a local choir performs. The night we were there we heard the Phoenix Orpheus Men's Choir. This choir has been in existence for over 80 years and had at about 70 men singing. Oh, they were fabulous!!

After listening to the choir and walking around to see the lights we toured a section of the visitor centre where they had many nativity scenes on display from all over the world. Very interesting to see the various depictions and detailed craftsmanship.

I left feeling in the Christmas mood!
