Wednesday in Halifax

Quick walk in the morning led Linda and I to the Loop, a yarn store. Even Linda, a non-knitter, bought some yarn. She is going to get her mother-in-law to knit a bear for her new grand baby. The softest bear either of us have ever felt!

The CSGA program gave the spouses an orientation to Halifax and then we road the Harbour Hopper, a land and aquatic vessel built to land groups in Vietnam during the war. This vehicle has been refitted as a Halifax tour vehicle. We drove around to many sites, the Citadel, Alexander Keith's Brewery, etc. then we drove into the harbour and toured from the water.

Supper was held at Pier 21, the major Canadian immigration point for 1900s. We toured the pier which has been turned into a museum. Very interesting. Pier 21 also houses the Scotia Bank Family History Centre where you can have your ancestors' immigration researched to find what port they entered, on which ship and how much money they had on arrival. Interesting!!
