Public Gardens, Peggy's Cove, and the Citadel

Touring with the spouses today on a bright pink articulated bus. We were hardly noticeable at all!

First stop the Public Gardens of Halifax. These Victorian Gardens of 17 acres are maintained by 30 staff in the summer. Gorgeous plants, trees and statues.

Peggy's Cove was picturesque even in the fog. Vast amounts of white granite to walk on and view the lighthouse from. Got lots of great photos. Which one is your favourite?

Last stop, the Citadel, on top of the hill in Halifax. Garrison built by the English. Saw the changing of the guards, formation practice, and firing of the cannon.

Gate to the Public Gardens sent from London England in the 1700s.

Flower urn completely sculpted with plants.

Band stand.

Lobster traps - old wooden on the left and new metal on the right.

Sculpture carved into the rock.

Peggy's cove fishing boats on today's foggy day.

This boat has seen better days!

The iconic lighthouse at Peggy's Cove

Wildflowers and grasses in front of the lighthouse.

Guess who?  Guess where?

Can't miss us?!?!

View of Halifax Harbour from the Citadel showing the ditches.

Getting into formation.

Changing of the guard at the citadel gate.
