Trend Tex Challenge

Every year Trend Tex puts out a challenge for quilters to design a quilted creation using a certain line of fabrics. This years fabrics were very bright lime, pink and turquoise, with a coordinating patterned fabric. It was amazing to see what people created!

Anna Hergert's piece called, Chasing Circles in a Modern World, was very interesting!  Her quilting lines supported the entire construction of the piece. The circles made out of the striped fabric were oriented to follow the quilting as well. Very well constructed!

This quilt, called Modern Ways, focuses on how the Internet is a major part of our world today. Computer components embellish the piece.

The True Cost of a T-shirt, is a visual statement on the garment industries abuse of foreign workers rights, working conditions and pay. Well thought out graphics.

Modern Tiles is amazingly quilted with precision and was awarded first place. No wonder!  It is amazing!!

My personal favourite is Road to St Catherine's.  Again, amazingly quilted, but I also admired the pieced quilting that followed perspective and bece the landscape showing two roads to St. Catherine's - one the straight road and the other the drunkards path. Lots of thought (and Math) must have gone into the designing!
