American Quilt Show - Phoenix

Traveled to the AQS in downtown Phoenix. A very large quilt display with tons of vendors!  Wow!  Quilters heaven!!

Here we (Marj, Zandra and I) are as we enter the quilt show.
(At the end of the day we have many bags and look a bit more tired!)

I bought rulers and a book by this woman, Marci Baker.

Stitch Like an Egyptian featured two of the Tentmakers of Cairo.  This craft, primarily done by men, is a traditional art used to hang inside tents.  The applique work is done with colorful cottons on a plain cotton background with a heavy canvas on the back.  The design is sketched on the plain cotton background and large chuncks of cotton are used to applique - no fussy piecing and cutting.  These men work fast using a long needle and large scissors.  Fascinating to watch!
