Cape Split

James and Helen, Don and I traveled north to the Bay of Fundy to hike Cape Split. It was a long hike (5 miles one way) through forest to get to the end of the trail which opened up to a meadow with a stunning vista.

The cape virtually splits into two chunks. The crevasse is very high!  There are two large rocks where gulls and cormorants were nesting. We had our sandwich lunch and watched the tide go out. The water was really rushing.

The amount of water that goes in and out of the Bay of Fundy twice each day is phenomenal. Water rises over 11 meters or 35 feet two times each day!
