Soldiers Pass Hike

Don and I met up with Bob and Ellen who are staying in Sedona for a week, to do a couple of hikes. Our first hike was Soldiers Pass in Coconino National Forest. 

The trail leads thru the Red Rock Secret Wilderness, but at first is busy with jeep traffic on adjacent trails. 

The trail dips to cross a wash then climbs out to Devils Kitchen sinkhole. 

The trail continues on in the partial shade of Arizona cypress towards Seven Sacred Pools. 

The trail becomes increasingly steep and rocky as it climbs to the pass then continues to the Brins Mesa trail. We saw scenic vistas south to Sedona and north to the Mongollon Rim. Gorgeous!!
