Barrett Jackson Car Auction

What an amazing event the Barrett Jackson Car Auction is!!  They were auctioning off 1650 cars during this week. We walked around all the tents and viewed most off the cars. Overwhelming!  

We stopped to have lunch at the food vendors. Later in the day we sat in where the auction takes place. We were lucky to be allowed to sit in some empty bidders seats. It costs $500 to register for a bidding card!  

We could not believe the price the cars were selling for. The Jed Clampett Beverly Hills Car, a George Barris creation, sold for $250,000. A 1955 Pontiac Convertible Sold for $200,000.  The original car from the movie Christine, a 1958 PlymouthBelvedere, sold for $180,000. A 1944 Ford pickup truck owned by Ron Pratt and built by Boyd went for $340,000!!  Crazy!!  Way out of our league, but fun to watch, especially when the people bidding were right around us!!
