Special Road Trip

The four amigos went on a road trip to christen the Passat. Lunch at Dayners Den in Rathwell was a treat as always. Lynn and Lenard were running to keep everyone fed!

We drove further east, on past St Claude to Annette's Cottage Crafts, to attend her open house. It is a quaint cottage full of unique gifts and flowers. The welcome aroma of mulled cider and beutterkueken (German butter cake) enveloped us as we entered!

The owner, Annette, is extremely talented. Her artistic works are everywhere, from kids hats to wall plaques, not to mention gorgeous seasonal flower arrangements and dainties. Needless to say, we all left with goodies inspiring us to get into the Christmas mood!

Annette also showed us some of her quilts. Her earth to sky quilt is amazing!! Gorgeous fabrics arranged using a traditional star pattern depict an earthly scene. Gorgeously quilted by Jackie Pool. We spread it out on the snow to get a good look at it. Magnificent!

A terrific day, with wonderful friends, extending life's journey.
