First Five Artist Presentation

Katie was first to do her artist's presentation. She explained how she raced in a canoe on the Yukon River. They paddled 450 miles in 52 hours which normally takes about 2 weeks!  Her fibre work reflects her love of nature.

Diane presented how she worked on her Magic Blanket piece this year. She used up her stash of blue jean material and another scrap box. The blanket is full of memories for her.

Val described her focus on antique photographs into fibre portraits. I have seen many of her works, but she has a new one of a young bather. Very nice. She is working towards 20 pieces for a show in Portage la Prairie next year.

Yvonne described her busy life and all the workshops she took this year. She feels she is random in her progress. She wishes to find a focus.

Leslie showed photos of her ice dyeing on cotton, velvet, cheese cloth, etc. yummy!!  We will be visiting her studio later this week.

Thelma had her presentation done with her recorded voice for the script. She showed pictures of her grand daughters in England. She does 52 weeks of crafting letters with these girls. This year she is making them ahead and leaving the entire year with them when she visits this fall instead of mailing one letter each week that was getting cost prohibitive.
