Canada Geese

We have a pair of Canada Geese who have mated on our lake the past two years. Last year they were forced off their nest by another Xanada Goose. This year they were able to hatch all 5 goslings.

Bike Ride

Albert, Joyce, Don and I took out bikes to the Tempe Lake area and rode around Tempe and Scottsdale. Gorgeous area with lots of water. Hard to believe we are in a desert!

Coreen Visits and We Play with Rusty and Elaine

My fibre mentor and friend, Coreen, visited for a few days. She and Russ are staying at an RV Park in Casa Grande two hours south of Mesa. She brought a new art project, a Grey Heron from a Don Zeghers African photo, to work on while she was here. We set up a workshop!

Elaine joined us and Coreen taught her how to thread paint an image of her dog Rusty. I worked on a political piece for 'Threads of Resistance' exhibit in the USA.

Here I am drawing as my new friend, Rusty, snuggles up!

Mavericks Round Table

March Maverick meeting was three round table presentations - mono printing, making prints using a Thermofax machine and discussion how to enter your work into Art Exhibitions. A great way to share knowledge and ideas!!
A purchasable permanent gel plate.
I had heard about making one with Knox Gelatin, but had never seen this one
made out of some kind of flexible synthetic material.

Making a print using the Gelli Plate.

Thermofax machine

Inks used with the thermofax screens.

Sample of overprinting with various thermofax screens.

This thermofax print is from a sample of writing called "White Writing" as it looks like writing but isn't really words.
