Quilting in the Desert Teachers

Patt Blair - Painted Art Quilt

This was the class I took. It was marvellous. See the past two blog posts for details.

I had seen some of Patt's works previously oat Road to California.

Susan Carlson - Fabric images

Susan is famous for her book Serendipity Quilts. I have that book and have attempted a couple of pieces from it. She showed some of her new pieces. Also she told us about how she constructed a 20 foot long quilted crocodile!!

Katie Pasquini Masopust - Artful Log Cabin

Katie is a bundle of energy who completed more projects and books than any other quilter I can think of. The students in her class used a photo as inspiration for log cabin quilts. Not like your regular log cabin patches these ones were created using a grid over the photo and choosing similar colours in the patch.

Karen Eckmeier - Happy Villages and Wild Waves

Karen's first class Happy Villages is great for creating a cosy village art quilt from realistic Greek seaside landscape to folksy Christmas villages. I loved these friendly looking locations!
