Vail Stop

When we left Denver this morning the weather was beautiful, but as we drove towards Vail through the mountains it began to cloud over and even snowed a few flakes!!

Stopped at Vail. It was all but deserted. We enjoyed walking around there. It looks like it would be a fun place to be in the winter. The ski area has pedestrian walking only, no cars, in the shops area. Lots of interesting looking shops, most of which were not open today.

We were surprised at how small the slopes seemed to be. Nothing like the runs we have in Banff. The Rocky Mountains here do not seem to be so high and jagged as in Canada.

Snow falling.

Snow hill making snow.  Temps about 4C.

Ski runs in the background of Vail town site.

Antler sculpture.
