The park hosted a quilt show and luncheon on Wednesday. Tuesday night we set up tables for displaying and Wednesday morning people brought in quilts for display. Some quilts were heirloom works and some were newly made by park members. They also had a guest quilter who showed her work, a memorial of a quilter from the park who passed away this past year, and a vendor.
Lots of people showed up for the show and lunch of meat filled croissants, veggies, fruit and mini muffin for dessert.
I was able to get photos of Donna and Joanne in front of some of their current projects that were on display.
One very unique quilt reminded me of my University roommate, Donna. She taught me to make tablecloths out of gingham and embroider a pattern on it using crotchet cotton. We were both addicted to the craft. Something mindless to do when not studying. But we never thought of incorporating this craft work into a quilt. See the photos of gingham embroidery squares quilt.
