Roses Love the Desert

News to me!  Roses love the heat of the desert and as long as they receive water to their roots they are happy. The nice part of a rose planted in the desert is that they do not seem to get black mold on the leaves which is a problem in more humid areas.

Don and I would like to plant a couple of rose bushes at our Mesa home so did some exploring at the Valle Del Oro rose garden. The roses seem to be in full blossom right now. Gorgeous!

Blue Girl Lavender 1964

Double Delight, red blend, 1976.  Very Fragrant!!

I think my two favourite are Double Delight and Mr Lincoln.  Now we will have to see if we can find those variety and plant them next fall.
