Arrived at Lac le Jeune Wilderness Resort

IWe have arrive at the Fibre Artists of Manitoba retreat!!  A gorgeous location.

This is the view from the porch on our cottage. Ahhhh. Relaxing.

Apparently this pond that we view is not the actual Lac le Jeune. We will have to go for a walk to see the real one. Later!

Here is Coreen enjoying the fresh air!?!  Notice our cottage in the background.

Katja's Quilt Shop

An unexpected gem of a shop that we happened across on our tour through Kamloops, Katja's Quilt Shop. This is THE Katja who wrote The New Hexis book. Some beautiful samples of her modern hexagons are hanging in the shop.

Also a cool sample quilt of a Tula Pink design. That is one interesting butterfly!

Cochrane to Kamloops

Another gorgeous day for driving.

Unfortunately there was a lot of construction along the way.

Got to Mike and Heathers place. Great to see them.

Stop in Cochrane

Out of Calgary through rush hour traffic!  A detour to Cochrane to visit Maple Leaf Quilting, the location of the Gammill company that serviced our Gammill long arm machine this summer. Great hospitality there.

Beautiful scenery as we traveled #1A to get to Cochrane and then to get back to #1 Hwy. Prairie girls are amazed!!

Swift Current to Calgary

A gorgeous sunny drive to Calgary today. We couldn't seem to get a good cup of coffee all day but had a wonderful supper out with Erin, Rianon and Brenwyn.

Then a quick walk from the restaurant and we were overlooking the Glenmore Reservoir. Gorgeous area set aside by the city. Also where Heritage Park is located.

Swift Current

Our driving trip to Lac le Jeune, BC for the annual Fibre Art Network (FAN) retreat has begun. Yvonne and I left Treherne this morning. We traveled west in rain and mist. Stopped for lunch in Wolseley, SK. Started to see pockets of sunshine, finally enough to see enough blue to form a Dutchman's  pants, as we neared Moose Jaw. Booked into the Best Western in Swift Current. Ended up getting a suite at regular room cost!  Gotta love off season travels!
